Organizational Structure

The organizational structure of the Union Parishad is given below-

  • Each Union Parishad consists of nine wards.
  • A chairman is elected in each union council.
  • One local person from each ward is elected as a member.
  • One woman member is elected in every three wards.
  • The chairman and members are elected directly by the residents of the union.
  • Every five years the Union Parishad is elected and the chairman and members are elected

Organizational Structure

Union Parishad is formed with 1 chairman and 12 members. The change structure of the Union Parishad is shown below showing the changes that the present government has brought in the structure of the Union Parishad very recently:

1. Chairman : The Union Parishad shall have a Chairman and he shall be the electorate of the Union Will be elected by direct vote.
2. General Members : 9 members from 9 wards in Union Parishad will be elected by direct vote.
3. Reserved Members : 3 seats in Union Parishad will be reserved for women. Women members 1 person in every 3 wards will be elected by direct vote of all.
